The Himachal Pradesh Human Rights Commission (HPHRC) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information this website collects and how it is used.

Browsing the website

You can visit this website without telling us who you are. The website does not automatically capture any personal information such as your name, phone number or e-mail address that would identify you. Like most websites, the server records technical details of each visit (IP address, browser type, date and time of visit and pages visited). These details are used only for statistics and to keep the website secure, and we make no attempt to link them to individuals, except where a law enforcement agency lawfully requires it to investigate damage to the website.

Information you give us

To file a complaint or see your complaints, you log in through the Government of Himachal Pradesh single sign-on service. The Commission then receives the details shared by that service (such as your name and address) and the details you enter in the complaint form, including documents you attach.

  • This information is used only to register, process and decide your complaint and to contact you about it.
  • It is handled under the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993 and other applicable laws.
  • It is not sold or shared with any third party for commercial purposes. It may be shared with government authorities only as needed to inquire into the complaint, or when required by law.
  • Access is limited to authorised staff of the Commission.

Cookies and browser storage

The website uses a session cookie to keep you logged in and to protect forms against misuse. Your text size choice is stored in your own browser. These do not collect personal information and are removed when you log out, clear your browser data or the session ends.

Security

The Commission takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
